Calculate dates and days

Results update as you type. Count days between two dates or find a date a certain number of days away. Set your workweek and add excluded holidays if needed.

What do you want to calculate?

Choose the start and end of your period. By default, the elapsed day count does not include the first day.

Example: one day elapses from the 1st to the 2nd. Including both dates counts 2 days. This setting also applies to working-day totals.

Which days do you normally work?

Select your working weekdays (Monday–Friday by default). This can be customized for any country.

Holidays or excluded dates (optional)

Add dates when you do not work. They are subtracted only when they fall on one of your selected working days, so they are never double counted.

How to calculate days between two dates

Calculate the difference between dates in calendar days and distinguish elapsed days from inclusive counting. For working days, choose which weekdays you actually work and enter any dates to exclude. You can also add or subtract calendar or working days from a date. All calculations use timezone-independent UTC calendar arithmetic. Public holidays are not added automatically: enter those that apply to you. This tool is not designed for legal deadlines.

Example: from November 1 to November 11, 10 days pass; counting both dates gives 11 days.

Results are estimates and depend on the supplied values.

Practical guide to counting days and dates

Calendar days: elapsed or inclusive

The usual difference measures elapsed time: from the 1st to the 8th is 7 days. If you need both endpoints included, such as counting nights or days of attendance, enable inclusive counting.

From the 1st to the 8th: 7 days · Including both: 8 days

Working days based on your schedule

Not everyone works Monday to Friday. Choose your usual working weekdays and add the holidays that apply. A holiday that already falls on a day off is never subtracted twice.

Working days = counted dates − days off − holidays on working days

Adding and subtracting days

Select the second mode to find a date a certain number of days in the future or past. Adding 3 calendar days to Monday gives Thursday. Adding 3 working days on a Monday–Friday schedule also gives Thursday unless you add a holiday.

Target date = starting date ± chosen number of days

Why add holidays yourself?

Public holidays depend on country, region, municipality and employer. Rather than assume the wrong calendar, this tool lets you enter your own dates. Always confirm official deadline rules where relevant.

Entered holidays affect only working-day counts.

Frequently asked questions

How many days are there between two dates?

Choose a start and end date to see elapsed calendar days and their equivalent in full weeks and days.

Is the starting day included?

Not by default: one day elapses between Monday and Tuesday. Enable inclusive counting to include both endpoints.

Can I count Saturdays as working days?

Yes. Tick Saturday in your normal working-week selection, or customize any other combination of weekdays.

Does it automatically account for public holidays?

No. Add the holidays and days off that apply to you to avoid misleading results for different places and years.

Can I use it to calculate official filing deadlines?

This is a general calendar tool. It does not implement special rules for official notices, filing periods or local public holidays. Check the applicable official rules.

What about leap years and daylight saving time?

Leap days are counted correctly. Dates are processed using UTC calendar days to avoid errors caused by clock changes.
