How to calculate gravel quantity
Multiply the length, width and depth expressed in metres. The resulting volume in m³ is multiplied by the estimated density of the material to calculate its weight. Any additional allowance is applied to volume and weight. Actual gravel density varies with grade, compaction and moisture.
Example: 5 m × 3 m × 0.10 m = 1.50 m³ · 1.50 × 1,600 kg/m³ = 2,400 kg
